What would constitute a Tattoo being indecent in the United States Army?
I’m 21 years old and I want to join the Army next year when I finish college as an 11B with airborne school, hopefully and God willing if I can maybe get an option 40.

Neither of these Tattoos are visible with a t-shirt on. The one on my army rests about 1.5-2 inches above the end of a t-shirt sleeve and the one on my back is……on my back.

Would these Tattoos be considered indecent or problematic during the enlistment process or while I’m in the Army for that matter?

Usually the Army will bar you from enlistment if you have a sexually graphic tattoo or one relating to hate (such as a swastika). Your tattoos seem fine and even the t-shirt rule isn’t a problem anymore (I have a tattoo on my right forearm, I got after joining but no one cares). Your ink shouldn’t be an issue before or during your service. I’ve seen some tats that should be cause for problems but it’s not that big of a deal. The army is becoming more like society and being very accepting of tattoos.

No, these tats will not be a problem. As long as there are no nudes on your body or gang related tattoos, you’ll be fine. If you have anything that even resembles a gang related tattoo, they will make you black them out before you can enlist. What you’ve got is no problem, at all.

I dont believe any of those would be a disqualification although if it turns out to be to the person who evaluates you at MEPS think so you can get a waiver… my husband got in a waiver for having a confederate flag so if that went through you should be alright, Also if after you get in and through basic if a CO doesnt agree with it the Army will pay to have it removed from your body, I dont know if all posts do it but here at Ft Campbell they do. In my opinion, they’re no worse that I’ve seen before. But I retired from the Navy in 1985, and apparently rules have gotten more restrictive. I suspect you’re just going to have to jump through the hoops.

If they both pass you, barring any other potential problems (lacking a high school diploma — moot if you’re finishing college, or having a criminal record, or having some disqualifying physical problem), I’d say you’re probably good to go.

Any hope for the human race?
These recent events with China and Google pulling out had me cheering for a corporation finally pushing for an ethical viewpoint. Or at least that’s how I felt at first though, further reflection has forced me to readjust my beliefs. The other societies such as China with it’s Nazi like behavor, in addition to North Korea, Russia, and many other parts of the world is easy targets for criticism. However what the United States did and continues to do is absolutely not 1 bit better. It massacred the native Americans (in the name of their God and Manifest Destiny no less) lies about Weapons of Mass Destruction that never existed, where Bush gets off completely while Clinton was impeached for a private matter between his wife. What I am saying is there are absolutely no heroes in this world. No one to look up to as a positive example because it is all very self serving. Every single thing we are thankful for having was forcefully taken by means of murder, rape, and cultural genocide of a race that came before us. I doubt there is a country or group of people on this planet who was not responsible those crimes. If there is a way out of this mess then it must be by letting go of our primordial instincts, social instincts that are akin to a pack of wolves, letting go of our patriotism (I’m better than you because of the location of my birth), and religions.
We are barely any more developed than we were thousands of years ago; we’re still frivolous, petty, pride driven mammals only now there is the destruction of the global environment and nuclear war on the horizon has soon nearly everyone will have nuclear weapons. Our only hope is in space stations and off-planet bases where the logically minded individuals who built them shall end up. Perhaps it is a form of natural selection. The ignorant and lazy will kill each other off while those more disciplined will narrowly escape.

Maybe it will not come down to such an extreme result. I hope I’m wrong but that does appear to be the direction we are heading. In the stone age we weren’t just afraid of the dark – we are equally afraid of each other. No wonder every ideology begins with (you must follow this specific ideology or you will be punished eternally.)

It’s frustrating in how we grow into adults and how many of us not only fail to develop any further on the bases of cognizant, but also seem to suppress the natural and healthy instincts they possessed as a society. When I look and see the actions we make on a daily bases, the leaders we allow into office (no matter what our form of government is), and in general the values we judge by – leaves me walking away with a sense of,

"We are unbelievably screwed."

They isolate a lot of the subway/external noise. It’s great considering it dosnt take batteries for active noise cancelling. I find they sound wayy better.

My friend has a set of sonys for $15 (USD). THey sound great for $15 (they sound like my $120 bose) and they look good too. Skullcandy is definitely overrated. They just look good, they sound medicoure.

I have Investing questions so i can make 500%… Please Help?
1. Can i start investing with $1000 at a big firm like Fidelity?
2. Can i buy pink sheet or OTC stock or any penny stock for that matter with Fidelity?
3. Will i be, in any way, restricted to the number of shares i can buy at a time? For Example, Can i buy $1000 of Stock A at $.10/share equaling 10000 shares. Can i buy $1 million of stock? Or am i limited?
4. Can i buy at any time? Sell at any time? How EXACTLY does this work? I would like to make a trade using the computer. When i say SELL… Will it be sold ASAP? Could it take days? Can i set up a stop loss by computer or do i have to talk with a person?

1) Yes you can, but make sure to look at the minimum amount to open an account. Some are $500, others are as high as $10,000
2) As long as the stock is traded on a US exchange, you should be able to buy it.
3) You are only limited to a) how much money you have in your account, and b) the number of shares someone is willing to sell at your price. You might be willing to buy 1 million shares, but if there are not 1 million shares waiting to be sold, then your order will not go through.
4) See #3. The HUGE downside with penny stocks is that there are not many traders available. Say you buy 1 million shares or a penny stock for .10. Then that stock jumps up to $1 making you a 1000% profit. The ONLY way you can sell those 1 million shares is if there is a BUYER for that many shares at $1. You have to think of the stock exchange as a market. If no one is willing to buy your shares off of you for the price you want, your sell order will not go through. For every sell, there MUST be a buyer on the other end. For every BUY, there must be a seller willing to sell at that price. You can do a stop loss by computer.
5) Short terms capital gains are taxed at YOUR highest tax bracket. They are treated as additions to ordinary income. If you are in the 25% bracket, then they are taxed at 25%. Long term gains are currently taxed at the lowest tax bracket (10%). However this will probably change soon as Obama will need an income sourse to pay for his Obamacare plan. Yes, long term is anything held OVER 1 year.

If you are trying to get a 500% return in a year or less, then your expectations are wildly out of line, and you will undoubtedly plunk your money down on a gamble, lose it all, and then blame the market for your loss.

Take a little bit of that $1000 and spend it on a couple of good investment books first; or just study some of the free good advice at http://www.morningstar.com or similar web sites.

- With $1K, if you do not have a margin account, you will be limited to buying $1K worth of stock less the commission. I do hope — for your sake — no one gives you a margin account. And even if they do, you won’t be able to buy $1M of stock with it.

– You can enter orders at any time. When the orders are acted upon depends on which exchange your stock is listed on.

It appears that you are looking to trade penny stocks, most major reputable firms (like Fidelity) do not encoureage investing in or trading such securities and will do whatever to discourage such activity and rightly so.
